Six players reach double digits as Mustangs punch their ticket to GPAC championship game

ORANGE CITY, IOWA – It was a familiar sight that welcomed Morningside’s men’s basketball team as it pulled up to the Northwestern College Bultman Center. Unlike 10 days ago when the teams last met, it was Morningside that came out on top this time, picking up a 93-83 victory over the tournament’s no. 1 seed and a trip to Hastings for the Great Plains Athletic Conference postseason tournament championship.

Morningside moves on in men's basketball postseason tournament

SIOUX CITY, IOWA – Morningside faced a formidable foe in the quarterfinals of this year’s Great Plains Athletic Conference postseason tournament, as the no. 4 Mustangs collided with the no. 5 Jamestown Jimmies for the third time this year. Jamestown may have pulled off the upset twice this season already, but it was Morningside that came away with the win when it counted, downing the Jimmies 89-72 to move on to the GPAC semifinals.
