The lead hit double digits with an Ely Doble basket at the 17:04 mark of the first half. The Tigers were able to hang around for a major of the first half, trailing by eight with 2:33 to go until halftime. Morningside ended the half on a 10-0 run to lead 57-39 at the half.
Doane cut the lead to 10 four minutes into the second half, but Morningside never let the lead sink below that in the second half of a strong victory.
Skoff finished with 23 points to lead all scorers. Doble added 20 points, eight rebounds, and eight assists. Jack Dotzler added 16 points, six rebounds and five assists. Morningside hit 52% of their shots in the win.
Morningside is in the thick of battle for the top spot in the GPAC and the GPAC regular season title. Hastings has sole possession of first place at 14-4 in conference play, but Morningside, Northwestern, and Concordia are tied for second at 13-5.
Morningside is at Northwestern Wednesday at 7:45 p.m. and wrap up the season at Briar Cliff Saturday at 3:45 p.m.
