SIOUX CITY, IOWA – Morningside’s women’s basketball team was hoping to catch a little break after a pair of overtime losses last week as they welcomed the Waldorf Warriors to Rosen Verdoorn Sports Center in their first appearance as members of the Great Plains Athletic Conference. The Warriors were just what the Mustangs needed, as Morningside put together three strong quarters to close out the contest 66-54.
YANKTON, S.D. – For the second time in as many contests, Morningside has headed to overtime in a Great Plains Athletic Conference women’s basketball game. Unfortunately, for the second time in as many games, the Mustangs wound up on the short end of the contest, falling 93-92 as Mount Marty hit a buzzer beater to overcome a two-point Mustang lead.
SIOUX CITY, IOWA – For three quarters, the Mustangs had the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics no. 1 team in women’s basketball up against the ropes, leading Dordt’s Defenders through 30 minutes of play. Dordt looked more like an undefeated team in the final frame, forcing overtime, where it opened up a 77-70 lead by the end of the period.
