Cheer posts strong performances at GPAC Championship CRETE, NEB. – Morningside cheer competed in the Great Plains Athletic Conference Cheer Championship, today, and while the Mustangs laid down a pair of high-energy routines, their scores placed them seventh among the GPAC rankings with a combined score of 78.71.

Mustangs continue building in busy weekend SIOUX CENTER, IOWA – After nailing a zero-deduction routine but coming up short in the standings at a home dual on Friday with a 74.75, the Mustangs turned the tables and came out ahead as they laid down a 77.55 to take the third spot in Dordt University’s cheer invitational.

Mustangs compete in Concordia's Day of Duals SEWARD, NEB. – The Mustangs continued their competition season with a pair of duals as part of Concordia University’s Day of Duals. Morningside fell short of its score from the season opener, posting a 72.02 and a 71.2 on the day.

Season opener at Mount Marty goes the Mustangs' way YANKTON, S.D. – It was the competitive season opener for Morningside Cheer as Morningside traveled to Mount Marty University for a dual today. The Mustangs did what they needed to to set the groundwork for a good season, winning the dual 82.65-56.15.

GREENWOOD, IND. – College Sports Communicators announced its At-Large Academic All-District Teams for 2023, including five Morningsiders. All-district honorees will move ahead for consideration for the At-Large CSC Academic All-America Teams.
KANSAS CITY, MO. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics announced its Daktronics Scholar-Athletes for competitive cheer today, with the honorees being announced ahead of the national championships in Ypsilanti, Mich.
SIOUX CITY, IOWA – The Great Plains Athletic Conference announced its all-conference honorees for cheer, following tryouts at the sport’s championship on Saturday at Crete, Neb. Morningside’s Sage Sheppard was selected as an all-conference athlete for the third time in her collegiate career.

Cheer finishes fourth at Dordt
SIOUX CENTER, IOWA – Morningside Cheer competed in the Dordt Cheer and Dance Invitational this weekend placing fourth with a final score of 73.47 points.
SEWARD, NEB. – Morningside’s competitive cheer team competed in a pair of duals at Concordia University this weekend, losing to a Dickinson State team that posted one of the top scores of the competition before claiming a solid victory over a small York College team.

Cheer lands on top in season opener
SEWARD, NEB. – Competitive cheer kicked off its season today as Morningside traveled to Concordia University. The Mustangs, delayed a day by the weather, started the season on a high note, beating the Bulldogs in the dual, 83.1-77.2.
