Sports Medicine

Our Mission

The mission of Morningside University Sports Medicine is to provide an integrated health care system to our intercollegiate student-athlete population. The Sports Medicine Department shall provide the highest quality level of health care that our resources will allow. The scope of athletic training services encompasses various domains that include prevention of injuries, injury recognition, treatment, rehabilitation, education and counseling that will allow the student-athlete to maintain an optimal quality of life. We will strive to continue to stay on the cutting edge of knowledge and implement the most aggressive, yet safe approach to athlete health care. We are committed to the highest standards of care consistent with the National Athletic Trainers Association Code of Professional Practice and the credentialing statutes of the state of Iowa.

Services

The training room is the main source of health care for student-athletes at Morningside University. Services will be provided by licensed athletic trainers and supervised students. These services include but are not limited to prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of injuries.

Training room hours are 10:00am – 6:00pm Monday through Friday and on an as needed basis over the weekend. These hours are subject to change at the discretion of the head athletic trainer.

Appointments can be scheduled through the Athletic Trainer System.
