SIOUX CITY – The Morningside University cheer team on Tuesday was voted fifth in the Great Plains Athletic Conference coaches poll.

The Mustangs garnered 34 points, with Northwestern gaining the most points with 64.

Last season, the cheer squad placed third at the Dordt Invitational, while getting seventh in the GPAC Championships.

The 2025 GPAC Cheer Championships are in Seward, Nebraska, at Concordia University on March 7.

Competition for the Mustangs gets started Jan. 26 at Grand View.
