
Season's fifth century-mark effort comes in win over Midland
FREMONT, NEB. – The Mustangs leapt into the second half of their conference schedule today, picking up a resounding 100-76 men's basketball win over Midland as they reached triple digits for the fifth time this season.

While the final score leaned in the Mustangs' favor, that wasn't the story for the entire game as Midland held a 21-20 lead at the 10:56 mark in the first half. A 27-1 run opened up a comfortable lead for Morningside by 2:00 mark as the visiting team sailed into halftime with a 31-point lead.
The Mustangs shot 66.1 percent from the floor of the Wikert Event Center, netting 39-of-59 attempts, while making 13-of-26 from beyond the three-point line. They were also 9-of-12 at the charity stripe.
Joey Skoff led Morningside with 22 points, tailed by Ely Doble with 16 and Jack Dotzler and Aidan Vanderloo with 13 each. Caleb Dreckman led the ranks off the bench, putting up 12 points, while Dylan Johnson had 11.
Brendan Buckley nearly hit double figures in the rebounds column, as he led the Mustangs with nine boards. Dotzler, Skoff, Doble, and Daniel Brocaille all had three rebounds on the way to Morningside's total of 31.
The Mustangs host Jamestown on Wednesday, Jan. 24, at 7:45 p.m. hoping to avenge one of this season's few conference losses in the final regular season meeting of the two teams.
