No. 16 Morningside clipped by Jimmies

JAMESTOWN, N.D. – The long trip to Jamestown didn't go the Mustangs' way, as Jamestown came away with an 91-81 win over No. 16 Morningside in Jamestown Wednesday night.

Despite a slim halftime deficit, the Jimmies put up 51 points in the second 20 minutes of play to rally past Morningside. The Jimmies shot nearly 60% from the floor and 50% from three in the second half to pull away. 

Jamestown opened up an early lead in the first half, but Morningside came storming back on the backs of Joey Skoff's 11 points and Ely Doble's eight. Morningside led 42-40 at the intermission.

The Mustangs shot 46.4% from the floor and 42.9% from beyond the arc in the loss. Skoff tallied 23 points and six rebounds for Morningside. Doble added 18 points and Jack Dotzler 13 points. Brendan Buckley led the team with nine rebounds and five assists. 

Morningside falls to 6-2 overall and 4-1 in GPAC play with the loss Wednesday. The Mustangs play host to Midland Saturday afternoon in Allee Gym.
