SIOUX CITY, Iowa – The No. 17 Mustangs shot 57% from the floor and cruised to a 83-61 win over Bellevue Saturday night inside the Tyson Events Center.
The Mustangs hit over 60% from the field in the first half to open a 17-point lead at the intermission. Bellevue cut the lead down to 11, 72-61, but Morningside ended the game on an 11-0 run to seal the win.
Joey Skoff converted 11-of-14 shots to tally 26 points. Ely Doble added 25 points and six rebounds. Jack Dotzler tallied 10 points.
Morningside soon takes flight for Florida. The Mustangs take on St. Thomas and Florida Memorial in Miami Gardens Tuesday and Wednesday.
