SALINA, Kan. – On the road for the second game of the season, No. 13 Morningside fell to No. 16 Kansas Wesleyan in Salina, Kansas Friday night 84-73.
The Coyotes went on a 23-0 run in the first half to take a lead and the Mustangs were unable to recover from the deficit. Morningside hung around for the remainder of the game, but couldn't get back within a possession of Kansas Wesleyan.
Eli Doble racked up a double-double of 24 points and 14 rebounds for the Mustangs. Half of Doble's 24 points came at the free throw line where he went 12-for-14. Joey Skoff added 15 points and Jack Dotzler 11.
The Mustangs have a chance to bounce back Saturday in Salina, as they face Bethany at 2 p.m.
