SIOUX CITY, IOWA – The Great Plains Athletic Conference released the first of its spring sport all-conference lists as the men’s volleyball season wrapped up with the conference tournament. Morningside had seven athletes receive all-conference honors or honorable mention, with Jacob DePauw and Owen Anderson receiving the setter and libero of the year titles.

SIOUX CITY, IOWA – For the first time in program history, Morningside’s men’s volleyball team swept the Great Plains Athletic Conference’s player of the week honors.

JAMESTOWN, N.D. – Morningside’s men’s volleyball team showed that it was there to compete and not be overlooked this postseason as it ventured north to play the Jimmies of the University of Jamestown in the GPAC tournament semifinals. The top-seeded Jimmies swept the Mustangs, 25-21, 25-14, and 25-14.

SIOUX CITY, IOWA - The Mustangs recorded another program first, capturing the first postseason victory in program history in a 3-0 win over Kansas Wesleyan University, 25-14, 25-17, and 25-15. The win also marks the fourth consecutive win, a new mark for the record book.

MCPHERSON, KAN – The Mustangs locked themselves into the fourth spot in the Great Plains Athletic Conference as they cruised to a three-set victory in the regular season finale at Central Christian. Morningside’s 25-9, 25-15, 25-12 victory came in the second meeting of the two teams this week.

SALINA, KAN. – The Morningside men moved a step closer to the Great Plains Athletic Conference postseason with a win at Kansas Wesleyan last night, pulling ahead of the Coyotes in the standings. The Mustangs, who have a game remaining in the regular season, set host KWU aside with a three-set sweep, 25-15, 28-26, and 25-11.

SIOUX CITY, IOWA – The Mustangs were unfazed by the Ides of March as they took the floor against the Central Christian Tigers in the season’s regular season home finale tonight. Morningside, unleashing a punishment on the Tigers from the service line as well as at the net, collected the win in a three-set sweep, 25-11, 25-14, and 25-13.

OSKALOOSA, IOWA – The Mustangs opened their second day at William Penn facing off with the host Statesmen. Following the 3-0 loss, with scores of 25-21, 25-19, and 25-19, Morningside wrapped the weekend with another competitive loss to Goshen, 3-1, 25-20, 25-27, 25-19, and 25-22.

PARKVILLE, MO. – Day two of the Park Pirate Invitational proved less fruitful for the Mustangs than day one, as they ran into no. 4 ranked Park University and no. 8 Missouri Valley University. The pair of nationally ranked teams both swept Morningside in straight sets, with Park claiming a 25-13, 25-17, 25-21 victory, and Missouri Valley picking up its win 25-17, 25-22, and 25-23.
DUBUQUE, IOWA – Sophomore outside hitter Isaiah Baynes (Mankato, Minn.) resumed an impressive run of play Friday and Saturday, Jan. 28 and 29.

OTTAWA, KAN. - Morningside’s first GPAC road trip of the year proved a tough one for the young men’s volleyball team, as it opened its conference season at Ottawa University. Ottawa, picked second in the conference behind defending champion Jamestown, was able to sneak away with a 3-0 win, with scores of 26-24, 25-18, and 26-24.

SIOUX CITY, IOWA – Morningside took the court for the second time in as many days, hoping to bounce back from a tough loss the night prior. The Mustangs, looking like a different team, collected a home five-set win over the Clarke Pride, 19-25, 25-22, 22-25, 25-23, 15-9.
