SIOUX CITY, IOWA – The Great Plains Athletic Conference released the first of its spring sport all-conference lists as the men’s volleyball season wrapped up with the conference tournament.  Morningside had seven athletes receive all-conference honors or honorable mention, with Jacob DePauw and Owen Anderson receiving the setter and libero of the year titles.

OSKALOOSA, IOWA – The Mustangs took their first swings in a quadrangular hosted by William Penn University today, crossing paths with a familiar face, St. Ambrose University.  Morningside was stung by the Fighting Bees in the second meeting of the two teams, again to the tune of a 3-2 loss, 22-25, 25-20, 25-20, 28-30, and 11-15.

Conference win eludes Mustangs

SIOUX CENTER, IOWA – What looked like a favorable night for the visitors on the scoreboard ended with the Mustangs’ first conference win continuing to evade Morningside’s men’s volleyball team.  The host Defenders came back from the 2-0 deficit to defeat Morningside 3-2 with scores of 16-25, 20-25, 25-23, 25-10, and 15-13.

PARKVILLE, MO. – Day two of the Park Pirate Invitational proved less fruitful for the Mustangs than day one, as they ran into no. 4 ranked Park University and no. 8 Missouri Valley University.  The pair of nationally ranked teams both swept Morningside in straight sets, with Park claiming a 25-13, 25-17, 25-21 victory, and Missouri Valley picking up its win 25-17, 25-22, and 25-23.
