Mustangs conclude road series at Jamestown

JAMESTOWN, N.D. – A long series of road matches concluded for Morningside men's volleyball with a three-set setback at the hands of the no. 6 rated Jimmies on Saturday in Jamestown, 25-22, 25-17, and 25-12.

The Mustangs' offense generated 34 kills in the three sets, led by Isaiah and Jacob Baynes, with 14 and 11, respectively.  Dylan Hamil had six kills and an error in 10 attempts, for a game-leading .500 attack percentage.  Jacob DePauw collected 29 assists in the match, bringing his season total to 384.

The Morningside block was again quiet, knocking down only four blocks in the match.  Erik Krenz, Tharen Cox, Hamil, and DePauw each recorded a single solo block, accounting for Morningside's defensive front's stats.

Owen Anderson led all digging defenders with 10 digs, while Jacob Baynes had eight and Lucas Begliomini had seven.

The Mustangs return home, playing in Allee Gymnasium for just the third time this season, as they welcome Kansas Wesleyan to campus for the first time on February 17 at 7 p.m.
