Three in first 40 send Mustangs to fourth-place finish
YANKTON, S.D. – Senior Ro Paschal (Mancos, Colo.) clocked the fourth-fastest time of his career Saturday, Oct. 23, leading Morningside University at the Mount Marty University Invitational.
Paschal's 26:21.45 allowed him entry into the race's individual top 15. It was the fourth straight competition in which he's garnered a slot in similar territory.
Fellow seniors Zach Ambrose (Dunlap, Iowa) and Garrett Hanson (Sioux City, Iowa) added two more placers in the best 40 for head coach Dave Nash's squad. Ambrose's 27:26.07 took 37th, and Hanson's 27:29.26 was good for 40th. Junior Justin Ambrose (Dunlap, Iowa) nearly made four Mside runners in the top 40, placing 43rd (27:37.02). Justin Ambrose's time was good for a personal career-best.
Morningside tallied 130 points which were situated fourth in the 10-team field. Next weekend, the Mustangs break from competition for preparations for the 2021 GPAC meet scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 5, at Northwestern College.
