SIOUX CITY, Iowa — The Morningside women's basketball team on Wednesday lost in its Great Plains Athletic Conference Tournament opener to Briar Cliff 89-52.
Briar Cliff held Morningside (13-16) to 28 percent shooting. The Mustangs were 14-for-18 from the free-throw line.
Lily Vollertsen led the Mustangs with 13 points on five made shots. She also brought in 12 rebounds in the season finale. Morningside outrebounded BCU, 43-40.
Ella Wragge scored eight points, while Jordyn Carr and Kinsey Hall had five.
