Secora collects GPAC Player of the Week

SIOUX CITY, Iowa — Morningside University junior Morgan Secora on Tuesday was named the Great Plains Athletic Conference Softball Player of the Week.

Secora in an eight-game span went 5-for-11 with three home runs and seven RBIs. She also had a double and walked once. Two of her three homers came March 3 against Baker, as well as two two-out RBIs in that game. She was 4-for-7 with runners on base.

Secora also led the Mustangs last week in slugging percentage at 1.364 and total bases at 15.

The junior from Gretna, Nebraska, also pitched in three games. She earned a win against Baker and Ottawa. During those two wins, she allowed two earned runs on 10 hits in 14 innings. She struck out seven hitters and walked only two.
