Hindman-Hobbs Center

Hindman-Hobbs Center

The Hindman-Hobbs Center, located at 3501 Peters Avenue, is Morningside's Health, Physical Education and Recreation (HPER) facility.  It houses the competition sites for the Mustangs’ men's and women's swimming and men's and women's wrestling teams. The facility also promotes wellness for the entire campus community, who know it best as simply the HPER.

The facility pool, with a maximum depth of 13 feet, includes six lanes and measures 25-yards in length.  It features wide troughs on either side, making it a pool that is primed for setting records.

The gymnasium is host to three multi-sport courts and serves as a site for Mustangs’ home wrestling competitions. An elevated jogging track, measuring nine laps to the mile, overlooks the gym.

The building’s lowest level includes a wrestling room that serves as the practice site for the wrestling program and a golf room featuring a simulator and swing analysis equipment for the men’s and women’s golf programs.  It also includes an athletic training room, staffed for Morningside's events and practices in the building.

The Mustangs’ competitive cheer and dance teams practice in a studio located on the main level and on the activity courts.

The facility, built in 1989, is home to the Mustang athletic offices.
