Mustangs place 10 on softball scholar-athlete list

KANSAS CITY, MO. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics announced its Daktronics Scholar Athletes for softball ahead of the 2023 NAIA Softball World Series.

Morningside had 10 athletes receive the scholar-athlete distinction this year, Vanessa Bohuslavsky, Grace Buffington, Ellie Cropley, Brooke Haage, Kennedee Jones, Morgan Nixon, Sydney Petersen, Taylor Richter, Mackenna Sidzyik, and Ellie Gengler.

In order to qualify for the NAIA scholar athlete program, a student-athlete must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.5, appear on a sport's eligibility certificate, and have attended one full year at the current institution.
