Mside gains top coaches association classroom accolades

Morningside University placed 12 of its 2022 softball team student-athletes on the National Fastpitch Coaches Association's All-America Scholar-Athlete list for the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics.

The awards were released Monday, Aug. 1.

Representing the Mustangs were junior Vanessa Bohuslavsky (David City, Neb.), sophomore Emma Christiansen (Sergeant Bluff, Iowa), senior Ellie Cropley (Sioux City, Iowa), freshman Ellie Gengler (Sioux City, Iowa), senior Mykel Ann Gray (Ames, Iowa), sophomore Brooke Haage (LeMars, Iowa), sophomore Kennedee Jones (Ankeny, Iowa), senior Morgan Nixon (Omaha, Neb.), junior Sydney Petersen (Omaha, Neb.), junior Taylor Richter (Rock Valley, Iowa), senior Lexie Stolen (Sioux City, Iowa), and senior Breanna Tjebben (Fort Dodge, Iowa).

Individual grade-point averages for the NFCA's All-America Scholar-Athlete honors are submitted by its member head coaches.
