Wurtz claims GPAC weekly award

Morningside University senior softball student-athlete Katherine Wurtz (Omaha, Neb.) was named the Great Plains Athletic Conference's Pitcher of the Week for April 11-17.

Wurtz didn't surrender an earned run during two conference wins. She struck out a combined eight in victories over Concordia and Doane, allowing only three hits in 16 innings of work. Wurtz spotlighted the span with a nine-inning triumph over Bulldogs' standout Camry Moore to help send the Mustangs to a pivotal league sweep.
