2020-21 team well-represented on NFCA academic awards

Morningside University's softball program put 14 student-athletes from its 2020-21 squad on the National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-America Scholar-Athletes list for the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics, released Tuesday, Oct. 5.

They were among 643 association-wide designees. The accolades are handed out yearly to individuals who achieve a 3.5 or better grade-point average on a 4.0 scale 

Morningside's honorees were as follows: Sophomore Vanessa Bohuslavsky (David City, Neb.); sophomore Lisa Bolton (American Canyon, Calif.); senior Carson Cameron (Herman, Neb.); junior Ellie Cropley (Sioux City, Iowa); freshman Brooke Haage (LeMars, Iowa); senior Andi Hayes (Elkhorn, Neb.); senior Alex Nelson (Sioux Falls, S.D.); junior Morgan Nixon (Omaha, Neb.); sophomore Sydney Petersen (Omaha, Neb.); sophomore Taylor Richter (Rock Valley, Iowa); sophomore Holly Severance (Las Vegas, Nev.); freshman Mackenna Sidzyik (Omaha, Neb.); senior Lexie Stolen (Sioux City, Iowa); junior Bre Tjebben (Fort Dodge, Iowa); and senior Jessica Walker (Plattsmouth, Neb.).
