Five different Mustangs score in triumph over Lancers

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Morningside's men's soccer team didn't take many shots on Saturday night against Mount Marty. It made the most out of those 12 shots.

The Mustangs scored five times and recorded a clean sheet in a 5-0 victory over the Lancers at Elwood Olsen Stadium.

They took six shots in each half, but scored thrice in the first half and twice in the latter.

Tony Spina got the scoring going at the 12-minute, 37-second mark with a goal assisted by Gustavo Dos Santos.

The second goal came off the foot of Yannik Vogel in the 21st minute, assisted by Mathias Constantinou.

Niklas Kneller closed out the first-half scoring with a goal in the 42nd minute, and Dos Santos also had the assist there.

The two second half goals came from Niklas Gruener in the 80th minute, and Bennet Wesselkamper in the 85th. Spina and Kneller assisted in those two goals.

Timon Koerber and Tim Teschner combined to earn the clean sheet in net. Koerber saved one shot.
