Bio

Frank Wallace was named Morningside's head track and field and cross country coach ahead of the 2022-23 academic year. Wallace, a standout sprinter at fellow Great Plains Athletic Conference member Briar Cliff, was most recently an assistant coach at Wayland Baptist University, and as a collegiate coach, has focused on sprints, hurdles, relays, and jumps.  His resume also includes stops at Southwest Minnesota State and Coe College as an assistant.  Wallace is certified through the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) and United States Track and Field (USATF) for strength and conditioning and has USATF's Level 1 Certification.  He is a six time USTFCCCA NAIA South Region Assistant Coach of the Year, receiving the honor for indoor and outdoor seasons in 2020, 2021, and 2022.

Wallace was a part of the Chargers' sprint squad, competing in the 55-meter, 60-meter, and 100-meter dashes, and the 4x100 and 4x200 meter relays.  He was a four-year letterwinner, three-time national qualifier, and two-time GPAC Champion.

Coach Wallace earned his bachelor's degree in sports management at BCU and earned his masters in physical education, with a concentration in coaching philosophy, from Southwest Minnesota State.
