Sporrer places third at GPAC Cross Country Championships
ASHLAND, Neb. – Courtney Sporrer earned the No. 3 spot on Saturday in the GPAC women's cross country championships, hosted by Mahoney State Park.
Sporrer, a Mustangs junior, ran the 6,000-meter race in 22 minutes, 59.44 seconds behind a pair of Dordt runners. She led at the 3,000-meter mark and was in second place at the 5K mark.
As a team, the Mustangs placed fifth in the team standings with 141 points.
London Rogge placed 17th with a time of 24:26.92. From the 1K to the 3K mark, Rogge improved 10 spots and stayed in the teens throughout the rest of the race.
Nicole Zuehl was third among Morningside runners, finishing 30th in 25:18.12. Her first 1,000 meters was timed in 3:58.
Gabby Ryan placed 50th in 26:03.75. She ran her last 1,000 meters in 4:13.
Paige Padavich ended up in 58th place, running her 6K in 26:26.12. Lillian Dahlhauser completed the race in 26:55.59 (67th), Jillian Fierro in 27:50.82 (72nd), and Ella Stapek in 28:38.70 (79th).
