Two Mustangs earn all-conference honors at GPAC Championship

NORTH SIOUX CITY, S.D. – Two Mustang runners earned all-conference honors to lead Morningside to a fifth place finish at the GPAC Championships at Adams Nature Preserve in North Sioux City Saturday morning.

Morningside compiled 142 points in the team standings, placing behind Dordt, Concordia, Hastings, and Doane.

Courtney Sporrer was the top runner for Morningside, placing fifth individually in 22:04.7. The other Mustang all-conference runner is Taylor Sporrer, who ran 22:33.0 to place 14th. 

The third Mustang to cross the finish line was Monica Olson. Olson ran 23:51.9 followed by Jolee Mesz at 24:13.9. Michelle Sanchez (24:42.8), Paige Padavich (25:07.3), Sarah Perez (25:20.3), Ikilas Hasan (25:49.2), Jillian Fierro (26:11.9), and Ella Stapek (27:25.7) also ran at the conference meet for the Mustangs.

The full list of NAIA Qualifiers will be announced next week with the NAIA National Championship taking place on Nov. 17 in Vancouver, Washington.
