Mustangs place second out of NAIA schools at Augustana Twilight
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Morningside women's cross country placed second out of NAIA schools and 14th overall at the Augustana Twilight Meet in Sioux Falls Friday night.
The Mustangs compiled 456 points as a team, second to Concordia for NAIA programs, and ahead of Northwestern, Hastings, and Doane.
Courtney Sporrer was the top finisher for Morningside, running a time of 19:06.45 to place 50th out of 358 runners. Taylor Sporrer placed second out of Morningside runners and 80th overall at 19:32.14. The third Mustang to cross the finish line was Jolee Mesz in a time of 20:11.58, and fourth was Monica Olson at a time of 21:02.08.
The Mustangs' next competition is at the Dordt University Sunflower Opener Sept. 9.
