Mustangs compete at Dordt

SIOUX CENTER, IOWA – Morningside women's cross country competed in the 2022 Dordt Holiday Inn Classic this weekend, placing sixth in a field of 14 teams.

The Mustangs finished just behind Grand View University, who had the top runner on the course, and just over five total minutes behind event champion Dordt University.

Courtney Sporrer repeated as the top runner for the Mustangs, crossing the finish line in 19:08.9 in 15th place. Tenna Beel ran the 5K course that rolls and winds through the hills on the edge of Dordt's campus in 19:55.97, with Monica Olson at 19:57.29.

Taylor Sporrer and Sarah Bosch rounded out Morningside's first five runners, finishing in 20:09.01 and 20:36.04, respectively.

The Mustangs are off for a weekend, next competing in the Mount Marty Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 22 in Yankton, S.D.
