Hast leads Morningside at inaugural GPAC Championships
CRETE, NEB. –The Mustangs added another page to the Morningside Women's Wrestling history book today, as they competed in the inaugural Great Plains Athletic Conference Women's Wrestling Championship.
Nevaeh Hast was the highest finisher for the Mustangs, as she picked up a win via fall in the consolation semifinals, pinning her opponent in 4:50. She would go on to fall in the third place match.
Morningside's sophomore season of women's wrestling may not have reached the level of last season, but head coach Jordan Cliff's outlook on the year was still optimistic.
"We did encounter some adversity this year, but as a team we also saw a lot of growth, said Cliff. "We saw improvement up and down our lineup this year, and we're going to take the lessons that we learned and build on them this offseason."
