Women's wrestling competes in first conference competition
YORK, Neb. – In their first conference affiliated competition, the Mustangs competed at the KCAC Duals in York, Nebraska Saturday.
The Mustangs fell in all four duals on the day. Doane picked up a 38-6 win, College of Saint Mary won 30-10, Jamestown won 30-15, and Dakota Wesleyan won 20-15.
Morningside's first win of the day came by Alyssa Petersen against Saint Mary. Petersen picked up a pin in 2:39. Madeline Black earned a win in less than a minute due to an injury.
Black earned a second win of the day against Jamestown, picking up a fall in 36 seconds. Elizabeth Rubio earned her own win by fall in 2:06 against the Jimmies.
Against Dakota Wesleyan, Black earned her third win of the day, a fall in 1:14.
After a weekend off, the Mustangs head to Des Moines for the Grand View Open on Feb. 3.
