Mustangs take first set in hard-fought match at No. 4 Concordia

SEWARD, Neb. – The Morningside University women's volleyball team put up a good fight against No. 4 Concordia on Saturday, but the Bulldogs defeated the Mustangs in four sets.

The Mustangs won the first set 25-20, but then lost the other three by set scores of 19-25, 20-25, 15-25.

Morningside's biggest lead in set No. 1 came late during the frame, leading 24-18. After a couple Concordia points, Claire Wilson closed out the set win with an attack. Aleksandra Dalach had the assist on Wilson's set-clinching kill.

Claire Wilson led the Mustangs with 13 kills, while Sydney Marlow had a 12-kill, 11-dig night.

Dalach had a team-high 30 assists, while Kyla Dyrstad had 10.

Dyrstad led the defense with 15 digs, while Quinn Groves had 14. Nienke van Drunen had the Mustangs' lone solo block, while Emma Haren and Adelyn Harris both had three assisted blocks.
