Morningside to play in NAIA Tournament for first time since 2019

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – For the first time since 2019, the Morningside women's volleyball program has qualified for the NAIA Tournament and will play at No. 14 IU-Kokomo (Ind.) Saturday in the Opening Round.

The Mustangs finished the regular season receiving votes with a 17-16 record overall and an 8-8 record in GPAC play. Morningside is one of six GPAC teams to make the tournament field. Morningside has made the tournament nine times with an 8-17 record.

"Extremely proud to see the players' work paying off," head coach Jessica Squier said. "We envisioned this journey during our Spring '23 workouts. I'm thrilled for our players."

IU-Kokomo is the River States Conference regular season and tournament champions with a 32-3 record. The Cougars have made the tournament 10 times with a 4-11 record in the tournament.

The Mustangs and Cougars play Saturday afternoon in Kokomo, Indiana. First serve is scheduled for Noon.
