Women's volleyball loses to Dakota Wesleyan 3-0

Offense sputters in women's volleyball loss

MITCHELL, S.D. – The Mustangs struggled to find production on offense against no. 9 Dakota Wesleyan, falling to the Tigers in straight sets, 25-18, 25-16, and 25-19.

Morningside was held to just 28 kills across the three sets, with Claire Wilson recording the top tally, with 10. Nienke Van Drunen followed with six. Gillian DePauw recorded 20 of the team's 27 total assists, adding three kills to her stat line.

The Mustangs had some success on defense, recording seven total blocks and 47 digs. Van Drunen led the way at the net with six blocks and Sydney Marlow followed with five. Aureana Bernales recorded 19 digs and DePauw followed with eight.

The Mustangs will conclude the regular season on Tuesday, hosting Dordt University in a JV/Varsity double header, with games scheduled for 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
