Mustangs open weekend at Midland University

FREMONT, NEB. – Morningside women's volleyball began a tough two-day road series as it kicked off the weekend at no. 3 Midland today, falling to the Warriors 3-0. The Midland win came on sets of 25-19, 25-12, and 25-18.

Morningside's offense, which of late has seen nearly equal efforts from Sydney Marlow, Claire Wilson, and Payten Lode in recent games, had limited success diversifying its scoring, as Marlow recorded 14 of the Mustangs' 31 kills in the match. Lode followed with eight, while Wilson was held to five.

The Mustangs' defense saw digs earned up and down the lineup, as Payton Shoquist led the team with eight. Wilson followed, with seven, and Marlow had six.

Morningside is back on the road tomorrow, traveling to no. 6 Concordia University in Seward, Neb.
