Mustangs continue three in row on road

Morningside College comes off a tough 3-2 loss to crosstown rival Briar Cliff Sept. 25 and heads into a contest with a familiar foe in No. 20-ranked Midland University Saturday, Sept. 28.

It's a 3:00 p.m. varsity clash following a 1:30 p.m. junior varsity meeting at MU's Wikert Event Center in Fremont, Neb., as the two teams begin their second pass through the conference.

Mustang Marks: Midland and the Mustangs (10-5 overall, 2-3 GPAC) lined up very well in their first meeting at Allee Gymnasium of the Rosen-Verdoorn Sports Center September 11. Despite a 3-0 loss, Morningside forced set two to a 26-28 final score and statistics for the two teams differed in just two columns. The Mustangs will hope to fix the errors that plagued them last time and have factored into appearances since. "We need to clean up our side of the net," remarked head coach Beth Donnelly after the Midland loss. "When you're playing that high level of competition and you have that many unforced errors, it's not going to end your way." … The Maroon continue a run of five of their next six on the road Wednesday, Oct. 2, with a rematch against the College of Saint Mary.
