
Mills earns discus silver medal at Grand View
DES MOINES, Iowa — The Morningside University women's track and field team turned in four Top 10 finishes Saturday at the Viking Relays, hosted by Grand View University.
Shelby Mills had the highest finish, placing second in the women's discus. Her throw of 113 feet, 5 inches came while she competed in the second flight. Mills also placed sixth in the hammer throw at 129-3.
Mills was one of four Morningside throwers who competed in the hammer throw. Aleena Edwards was ninth (124-8), Jacee Tindall 10th (122-4), and Ashley Adkins (93-4). Tindall and Adkins' throws were personal bests.
Tindall also placed fifth in the shot put, as her best throw measured at 36 feet even.
