Sachs and Dahlhauser lead Mustangs at Mount Marty

YANKTON, S.D. – Morgan Sachs and Lillian Dahlhauser headlined Morningside's first women's track and field outing of 2025, each picking up first place finishes at the 2025 Mount Marty Opener.

Sachs took the top spot in the 400-meter run in a time of 1:02.96. Dahlhauser won the 5,000-meter run with a time of 20:34.49. 

Gabby Ryan took second in the 5,000-meter run, finishing behind Dahlhauser in 20:35.99. Courtney Sporrer took second in the mile in 5:12.64, missing first place by a matter of seconds. Jolee Mesz was second in the 800-meter run in 2:26.44, and Kinsey Alt placed second in the long jump with a mark of 4.97 meters.

Morningside's 4x400-meter relay team of Mesz, Sachs, Lauren Wehrbein, and Sporrer took third in 4:11.41.

The Mustangs are back in action in Vermillion, S.D. next weekend, competing in the Dakota Realty Alumni meet.
