
Morningside women head to GPAC Championship after 4-0 victory
SOUTH SIOUX CITY, NEB. – The Mustangs are headed to the Great Plains Athletic Conference Women's Tennis Tournament Championship following a 4-0 win over Hastings at the First Serve Tennis Center today.
Morningside went into the match ready to play, with Stefany Simplicio and Lidia Suarez taking the no. 3 doubles match 6-1 and Kailee Bailey and Sophia Guntren winning 6-1 in the no. 2 spot to secure the doubles point.
Bailey kept the needle moving as the match moved to singles, winning a quick 6-0, 6-0 match. Suarez followed with a 6-1, 6-1 victory at no. 5, and Line Jensen locked up the match 6-3, 6-1.
The Mustangs head to the GPAC tournament championship match, scheduled to be played at 1:30 p.m. at the Mason Family Tennis Complex.
