
Mustangs move to 2-0 with win atop GPAC standings
SEWARD, NEB. - Morningside Women's Tennis broke up a 2-0 start to the Great Plains Athletic Conference season for Concordia, as the Mustangs beat the Bulldogs 4-3 in Seward today.
The Mustangs got on the board first, claiming the team doubles point with wins by Line Jensen and Brooke Marshall, 7-5, and Kailee Bailey and Stefany Simplicio, 7-5.
Bailey won her no. 3 singles match 6-4, 6-2; Simplicio won at no. 7-6, 7-4; and Lidia Suarez won 7-5, 6-2 to secure the win for Morningside.
The Mustangs take a 2-0 GPAC record into Wednesday's home match with Northwestern, with action at the Mason Family Tennis Complex getting underway at 4 p.m.
