
Mustangs triumph over North Carolina Wesleyan
HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. — The Morningside women's tennis team defeated North Carolina Wesleyan 4-3 on Sunday on its spring break trip.
In doubles play, Brooke Marshall and Line Jensen won their match, 6-3, to get on the dual board.
Jensen then turned around to be victorious during her singles match, 6-2, 6-0, over Elaez Miranda. Sophia Guntren earned the win in the No. 5 singles match in 6-3, 6-0 straight sets against Melanie Guzman.
In No. 3 singles play, Kailee Bailey won the first set 6-2, then dropped set No. 2, 6-2. Bailey won the tiebreaker 10-6.
Lidia Suarez won in No. 6 singles play 6-7 (4), 6-4, 10-4. That match clinched the dual, and moved the Mustangs to an 8-2 record on the academic year.
