
Mahoney leads Mustangs against Minnesota-Morris
SIOUX CITY, IOWA – Morningside had eight top three finishes in its final home meet of the year, a dual with the University of Minnesota - Morris. Alice Mahoney led the Mustangs individually with a pair of titles.
Mahoney's victories came in the 200-yard individual medley, which she finished in 2:23.37, and the 100-yard backstroke, which had a winning time of 1:01.71.
Lily Schwickerath took second in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 26.82 seconds, missing first place by less than four tenths of a second. Haley Snawerdt also placed second in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 6:03.91, while Delaney Biesecker took third in the 100-yard freestyle in 1:01.58.
The Mustangs took second as a team in a pair of relays, as Biesecker, Schwickerath, Olivia Ramaeker, and Snawerdt touched the wall in 2:10.39 and Schwickerath, Ramaeker, Snawerdt, and Mahoney took second in the 200-yard freestyle relay in 1:50.57.
Morningside heads to Nebraska Wesleyan University on Saturday in a final outing before the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships in February.
