
Mustangs hit season best marks against Saint Ambrose
SIOUX CITY, IOWA – Mustang swimmers hit the water on Saturday afternoon, hosting Saint Ambrose in their home pool.
In the 200-yard medley relay, the first event of the day, Sydney Lueth, Grace Holzerland, Josie Dike, and Olivia Ramaeker had a great first race, touching the wall in second place with a time of 1:59.87.
Lexi Carey was the lone Mustang in the 1000-yard freestyle event. Carey represented Morningside well, swimming in at a time of 11:21.98, good for second place.
In the 200-yard freestyle, Alice Mahoney placed second with a time of 2:07.75, Haley Snawerdt placed third at 2:11.77, and Delaney Biesecker placed fourth at 2:22.43.
Lueth returned for the 100-yard backstroke with a great first place finish with a time of 1:09.24. In the same event, Biesecker placed second with a time of 1:14.21, and Rilee Hobbs placed fourth at 1:23.53
Mahoney had another second place finish in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:53.89. In the same event Snawerdt finished in third place at 6:06.46.
Concluding the meet, the 400-yard freestyle relay of Dike, Carey, Snawerdt, and Mahoney had a strong last race, with a second place finish at 3:54.07.
The Mustangs will be back at it and on the road Saturday, Nov. 18 for the Gustavus Adolphus Invitational in Saint Paul, Minn.
