Hammarlund scores goal in 3-0 win

Trio of goals give Mustangs home victory

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – The Morningside University women's soccer team won its fourth out of five games Saturday with a 3-0 victory over Mount Marty.

Tuva Hammarlund got the scoring started with a goal at the 10-minute, 56-second mark of the match, and it was unassisted. She scored her fifth goal of the season, leading the Mustangs.

In the 29th minute, Keyera Harmon scored her fourth goal of the season. Selma Ohlsson earned the assist, her first this fall.

Paula Geiser – who hasn't played much for the Mustangs due to injuries over the last few seasons – scored her first collegiate goal in the final minute of the match. She played in her first career match on Wednesday against Northwestern. Lisann Evert had the assist on the final goal.

Morningside outshot the Lancers 33-3 on Saturday, including holding them to just one shot in the final 45 minutes.

Kyla Syverson earned the win, as she saved two shots in 45 minutes. Moriah Dixson and Stina Ahlund shared the other 45 minutes. Dixson had the other save.
