Women's soccer earns pivotal conference win at College of Saint Mary

OMAHA, Neb. – It took until the 89th minute for the Mustangs to get one on the board, but two goals in 31 seconds lifted the Mustangs to a pivotal 2-1 win over College of Saint Mary in Omaha Wednesday afternoon.

The Flames took a 1-0 lead in the 59th minute after neither side got a shot past the keeper in the first half. 

Tuva Hammarlund scored the first Mustang goal with 61 seconds to play to tie the match. With the match looking like it was heading to a tie, Julie Raffel scored the second Mustang goal with 30 seconds remaining. 

Kyla Severson and Isabel Ter Weeme combined for two saves in goal. Roselynn Bosman tallied four shots and two of them were on goals. 

The Mustangs have vaulted College of Saint Mary in the standings with the win. The Mustangs sit fifth in the conference heading into Saturday's regular season finale. Morningside hosts Dakota Wesleyan for senior day at 3:30 p.m. at Elwood Olsen Stadium.
