Second-half goal lifts Morningside past Chargers

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – A 58th minute goal for the Mustangs was the difference in a 1-0 result against Briar Cliff Wednesday night at a chilly Elwood Olsen Stadium.

Under the lights, Emma Feigl scored on a goal where a teammate's shot was blocked by a Charger and Feigl put it into the net from there. Feigl had two shots in the match.

Ida Carlsson tallied seven shots, two on goal to help keep the pressure on the Briar Cliff defense. Lily Sidel  led the team with three shots on goal and had five total shots.

In goal, Isabel Ter Weeme had a quiet night as her defense prevented Briar Cliff from getting much going offensively. The Chargers didn't get a shot off in the match.

Morningside goes back on the road to take on Midland Saturday night.
