Mustangs fall in tough contest at Hastings

HASTINGS. Neb. – The No. 19 Hastings Broncos found themselves down 2-1 in the first half, but a penalty kick tied the match going into the half and two more goals in the second gives the Broncos a 4-2 win over Morningside Saturday night.

The Mustangs had the Broncos where they wanted them, as goals from Roselynn Bosman in the 34th and 35th minutes gave the Mustangs a 2-1 lead. Hastings got a chance at a penalty kick four minutes later and found the back of the net to even the match at two. Neither side scored for the remainder of the half.

Hastings came out of the intermission and scored in the 49th and 69th minutes to win by two scores. 

Bosman totaled four shots, three on goal for the Mustangs. Keyera Harmon and Tara Kelleher added two shots each. Kyla Syverson tallied eight saves in goal for the Mustangs.

Morningside heads back to the state of Nebraska Wednesday as the Mustangs take on Concordia in Seward.
