Mustangs fall in GPAC tourney quarterfinals

HASTINGS, NEB. – Morningside women's soccer team donned its black road uniforms for what would be the final time of the season today, as the Mustangs fell to three seed, Hastings, 3-0 in the Great Plains Athletic Conference postseason tournament quarterfinals.

The Mustangs had a hill to climb, falling behind 2-0 in the first half as Hastings worked two balls past Isabel Ter Weeme

The second half was no more favorable for Morningside, as the Broncos scored again early in the period, getting around Megan Messersmith. Messersmith would continue to have three saves in her 45 minutes of play, allowing the lone goal.

Morningside's offense recorded four shots on goal, all in the first half. Keyera Harmon and Roselynn Bosman accounted for two each. Harmon took four shots in the match, while Bosman had two. 

The Mustangs conclude their season 8-7-3 overall and 5-4-3 in the conference. The team was unbeaten at Elwood Olsen Stadium, recording a 4-0-3 record at home.
