Mustangs drop match at Dordt

SIOUX CENTER, IOWA – The Mustangs were on the road this weekend, playing Dordt University in women's soccer action. Morningside fell in the match, losing 7-2.

It was a rough start for the Mustangs, who fell behind with more than 42 minutes remaining in the first half of play, as Dordt quickly snuck the ball past Morningside's Megan Messersmith. Messersmith was the keeper of record for all seven goals, recording two saves in the 90 minutes played.

Roselynn Bosman and Jil Hellerforth provided the offensive sparks for the Mustangs, with Bosman recording a goal late in the first half and Hellerforth starting off the second period with a score.

The Mustangs are back in action on Wednesday, facing crosstown rival Briar Cliff in a 1 p.m. contest.
