Mustang women fall in GPAC opener

ABERDEEN, S.D. – The Mustangs traveled to Aberdeen to begin their conference schedule today, playing Presentation College, a Great Plains Athletic Conference affiliate in soccer. The Mustang women dropped the opener to the Saints, 3-0.

Presentation scored early, taking the advantage within the first ten minutes of play and netting another goal before halftime.

Morningside interrupted Presentation's offense for most of the second half, but the Saints were able to score again with less than five minutes on the clock.

Megan Messersmith was in goal for the Mustangs, and recorded five saves in the complete game. 

Morningside took 18 shots in the contest, with 13 shots on goal all resulting in saves. Lily Sidel and LisAnn Evert each had three shots on goal, with Keyera Harmon and Sina Feeser each recording two of their own.

Morningside continues GPAC play this weekend, traveling to Jamestown, N.D. on Saturday for a 1 p.m. contest.
