
Mustangs take top spot at final tune up for GPAC championship
SIOUX CITY, IOWA – The Mustangs outpaced the field at the Morningside Women's Quadrangular today, winning the event that included Briar Cliff, Dordt, and Northwestern as all four teams wanted to keep themselves sharp ahead of the Great Plains Athletic Conference championship next week. Morningside's winning total of the single round event was 326 strokes, or 38 over par, to finish 10 strokes ahead of the competition.
Individually took five of the top six spots, with Kendra Casey and Alysen Sander tying for second place at seven strokes over. Aidan Sander was a stroke behind in fourth, with Cameron Spellman at nine over and Lucy Brown splitting sixth place at 10 over.
Morningside now looks to defend its GPAC title at the GPAC Women's Golf Championship in Cairo, Neb. on Monday April 28 and Tuesday April 29.
