Second-round surge pushes Mustangs up individual leaderboard

ORANGE CITY, IOWA – Morningside's women took second place in the Siouxland Women's Fall Invite, hosted by Dordt University, placing just five strokes behind the field leader Doane, with 625 strokes after two rounds of play.

Morningside's second round saw Hergert move up eight positions, Aidan Sander up four, Alysen Sander up 11, and Kendra Casey up nine. 

Hergert tied for third with 155 strokes, sharing the position with Cameron Spellman, who was golfing individually. Aidan Sander checked in at no. 7 with a 157, and Alysen Sander was no. 8 with a 159.

More golf is in store for Morningside as the Mustangs head to Marshall, Minn. to compete in Southwest Minnesota State's Mustang Invitational this weekend.
